RECAP | Britons End Men's Basketball's Win Streak at Three Games

Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Franklin College men's basketball team had their winning streak halted at three games with an 81-54 loss to Albion College in the opener game of the Wittenberg Holiday Classic on Monday (Dec. 20) afternoon.

The Grizzlies (6-3) sputtered on offense out of the gate and never got into a shooting rhythm, knocking down a season-low 30.9% (17-for-55) of their field goal attempts against the Britons (3-5).

How it Happened
The Grizzlies' first field goal came at the 16:10 mark in the opening half after Albion scored the game's first eight points. The Britons' lead grew to as many as 15 before an 8-0 Franklin run trimmed the deficit to 24-17 with 5:40 to go in the half after a three from Ty Wright.

But the remainder of the first 20 minutes was all Albion, as they shook off the FC run to take a 39-24 lead into the locker room. Franklin cut the deficit to 10 early in the second half before Albion ran away with the victory.

-Sophomore Ty Wright collected the second double-double of his career with 13 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Grizzlies in scoring.
-Senior Matt Krause led Franklin with 11 rebounds. Albion finished the day with a 39-32 edge on the glass.
