Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's basketball team collected their first home win of the season on Friday (Dec. 17) night, rolling to a convincing 87-65 win over the Berea Mountaineers.
Three Grizzlies (6-2) racked up double figure point totals with reigning league player of the week Matt Krause going off for 21 points and 16 rebounds to record his fourth double-double of the year. Franklin held Berea (4-7) to 38.9% (28-for-72) shooting and just 3-for-24 from long distance to claim their third straight win overall.
How it Happened
The Mountaineers jumped out to an early 8-3 lead, knocking down two of their first three attempts from long distance. But the Grizzlies weathered the fast start to rebound, taking the lead for good when back-to-back threes from Krause made it 18-12 with 11:50 to go in the half. The remainder of the half saw Franklin out-score Berea 31-7, with the home side taking a 49-21 lead into the locker room.
The second half saw more of the same, with Krause giving Franklin their largest lead of the night at 30 with a thunderous putback dunk with four minutes to play.

-Franklin turned in a strong shooting performance all over the floor, knocking down 52.4% (33-for-63) of their field goals.
-The Grizzlies buried 12 threes on the night, with nine coming in the first half on just 13 attempts.
-Ty Wright led all players with four triples on his way to a 20-point showing. The sophomore forward has scored at least 20 in five games this season.
-Junior Carter Crowe added a career-high 15 points, going 5-for-6 from the field with three three-pointers. Crowe and Mitch O'Mara tied for the team lead with four assists each.
-Rebounds were 51-27 in Franklin's favor, marking the second time this year Franklin topped the 50-rebound mark. Reggie McDonald finished second among all players with nine boards, narrowly missing out on his first double digit rebound game.
-Sophomore Logan Hudgins made his first career start, finishing with six points in 17 minutes of action.
