Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team made their seventh post-season appearance on Saturday (Oct. 30) afternoon, taking on Rose-Hulman in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament.
The sixth-seeded Grizzlies (5-12) gave the league's top defensive team in Rose-Hulman (12-2-2) a battle but ultimately came up short in a 3-1 defeat.
How it Happened
Down by a goal midway through the first half, Franklin was awarded a penalty kick in the 23rd minute that freshman Jaiden Baker made no mistake on, sticking a shot into the left corner of the net to even things up at 1-1.
But the momentum would shift right back to the hosts as Rose re-claimed the lead with a 25th minute marker. Franklin would press for another equalizer throughout the rest of the first half before coming up empty. Rose got an insurance marker in the 81st minute that capped the afternoon's scoring.

-Shots were 16-6 in the Engineers' favor, with the league's top defense holding FC without a shot over the final 36 minutes of play.
-Riley Rice made five saves in goal for the Grizzlies. Baker and Katelyn Duff tied for the team lead with two shot attempts each.
