RECAP | Grizzlies Drop Regular Season Finale to Transylvania

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Franklin College women's soccer team closed out their regular season on Wednesday (Oct. 27) night with a road match against the Transylvania Pioneers.

The Grizzlies (5-11, 4-5 HCAC) saw their winning streak come to an end as the Pioneers (9-5-2, 4-3-1 HCAC) took a 3-0 decision. The Pioneers opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a penalty kick goal and added insurance markers in the 64th and 81st minutes, respectively.

Riley Rice stopped six shots in goal over 68:13 of action before giving way to freshman Makenna Mundy. Mundy made four saves over the final 21-plus minutes of action.

Franklin will turn their attention to this weekend's quarterfinal match in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) tournament. As the tournament's six-seed, Franklin will travel to Rose-Hulman on Saturday (Oct. 30) to take on the third-seeded Engineers.

Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
