Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team began the final week of their regular season schedule on Wednesday (Oct. 20) night with a showdown against the Bluffton Beavers.
Franklin (4-10, 3-4 HCAC) got a goal in the opening minute and added an insurance goal in the second half to cap a dominating performance in a 2-0 win over Bluffton (4-10, 1-6 HCAC).
How it Happened
Franklin wasted no time taking a lead they would hold all night, with Lilly Haines potting the game-winner just 36 seconds into the match. The Grizzlies would spend the bulk of the first half in Bluffton's zone, out-chancing the Beavers 8-1 in the first 45 minutes of play.
Bluffton's best opportunity to equalize came in the 57th minute, but Riley Rice turned away a shot from the Beavers' Emma White to keep the lead at one. With 16 minutes to go in the game, the Grizzlies got an insurance marker when Jaiden Baker stuck home her first career goal to double the lead.

-Shots for the night were 15-3 in Franklin's favor, with Haines accounting for seven shot attempts. Haines and Elaina Page led all players tied for the most shots on target with three each.
-Rice needed to stop just two shots on the night to earn her fourth clean sheet of the year.
