ANDERSON, Ind. – The Franklin College volleyball team opened Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Saturday (Oct. 2) afternoon with a road matchup against in-state rival Anderson University.

The Grizzlies (8-10, 0-1 HCAC) jumped out to a one-set lead but the Ravens (8-8, 1-0 HCAC) would battle back to take the final three sets and win 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-20.

How it Happened
The two evenly-matched sides played a thrilling set to open the match, with nine lead changes and 18 total ties taking place. With the game tied at 23, Billie Jarrett stole service with a kill and Miranda Wilson closed out the opening game with her sixth kill of the set. Franklin swung at a .250 clip in the opening game while holding the Ravens to .118 on the attack.

With set two tied at 11, the Ravens would get even by taking 14 of the final 20 points in the game. Set three featured 12 ties and five lead changes before back-to-back Raven kills provided the winning margin. The final game saw the Ravens pull away down the stretch to close out the win.

-Wilson led all players with 14 kills on 40 attempts, giving her double digit kills in eight straight matches and 14 overall.
-Jarrett handed out 35 assists and tied with Maddie Holubik for the team lead with two aces.
-Three Grizzlies notched double digit dig totals with Allison Thompson's 14 leading the team. Morgan Curtis (11 digs) and Holubik (10 digs) weren't far behind.
