Box Score

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team wrapped up a busy weekend on Sunday (Sept. 9) afternoon, taking on Trine University on day two of the Robbie Dreher Classic, hosted by Wabash College.

On another wet day at the pitch, the Grizzlies (0-4) struggled to gain their footing, dropping a 3-0 contest to the Thunder.

For the second straight match, the Grizzlies were hurt by an early first half goal, with Trine taking a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. The Thunder doubled their lead with a goal in the 33rd minute and added another in the 79th minute to cap the scoring.

Landon Tak and Luke Oliver finished with the Grizzlies' only shot attempts, the first of the game coming from Tak in the 76th minute. Making his first career start in goal, freshman Elliott Clark turned aside five Trine shot attempts, wrapping up a weekend that saw him make nine saves over 135 minutes of action.

Franklin wraps up a tough stretch that sees them play three times in four days on Tuesday (Sept. 11) night. The Grizzlies will hit the road once again, heading to Greenfield, Ind. for a showdown with the DePauw Tigers. Kick-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m, immediately following the first game of the night.
