Men's Basketball Loses Hard Fought Game To Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (February 1, 2017)- The Franklin College men's basketball team lost a hard fought game to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday night by a final score of 74-71. With the win, the Fightin' Engineers complete the season sweep of Franklin.

The game came down to the final minute. After Franklin guard Aaron Mann knocked down a jumper with 40 seconds left to cut the deficit to one, the Grizzlies were able to force a miss on the defensive end. However, Rose-Hulman's Charlie Aimone came swooping in for the offensive rebound and called timeout. Wade Stallings knocked down two free throws for the Engineers with eight seconds remaining. A last second three point attempt by Franklin's Kale Morris came up empty.

The Grizzlies were led by freshman guard Braxton Day, who tallied a game high 21 points. Mann added 17 points and fellow senior Robbie Prather chipped in with 14 points.

Rose-Hulman was led by Aimone, who led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds. Nick McGrail scored 11 points and Collin Wojcik added 15 points from the bench

With the loss, Franklin falls to 6-14 overall and 3-10 in HCAC play. The team will return home this weekend, when they host Defiance on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 PM.
