FRANKLIN – For the first time in conference play, the Franklin College men's soccer team welcomed a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) foe to Faught Stadium when the Hanover Panthers paid a visit.

The Grizzlies and Panthers engaged in a physical contest, but it was a second half flurry of goals that proved to be the difference in Hanover's 5-0 win.

Hanover grabbed the lead less than 13 minutes into the match on the first of Dominic Isadora's three goals on the night. The Panthers and Grizzlies played an even match the rest of the first half as Hanover took their one-goal lead into the intermission.

The pivotal stretch in the game came midway through the second half when the Panthers potted four goals over an eight-minute stretch to take command of the match.

Final shots were 14-3 in favor of the Panthers, who also held a 9-0 edge in shots on goal. Garrett Belden made four stops in goal for the Grizzlies. Luke Oliver, Cody Coppess and Trey Floyd all finished with shot attempts for the Grizzlies.

Franklin will be in search of their first conference win this coming Saturday night, when they welcome the Bluffton Beavers to Faught Stadium. Kickoff is set for approximately 7:30 p.m.
