Women's Basketball defeats Anderson on the road

Box Score

ANDERSON, IND. - Franklin College women's basketball tops Anderson 71-54 on the road Saturday afternoon in their third conference match up this week.

Bouncing back from two Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) losses this week to Bluffton and Transylvania, the Grizzlies found a rhythm Saturday dominating Anderson University on the road. Offensively, Franklin was efficient and balanced as a team including 24 points coming off of the bench. The defense also applied pressure to a young Anderson squad forcing them into 25 turnovers.

Women's basketball featured a strong offensive attack as three of Franklin's starters finished the game with double-digit scoring efforts. Senior Lauren DeSutter led the way with 14 points shooting 50% from the field. Following right behind was Sarah Taylor who went 5-7 from the field finishing with 13 points while Mandy Fisher also contributed 11 points on the night.

Anderson's Kaycee Strunk finished with a game high 18 points and Carly Hackler tallied 16 points, 5-7 from beyond the arc. Jireh Hart was big on the boards recording 15 rebounds for the Ravens.

The Grizzlies are back on the road next Wednesday January 18th against HCAC rival Hanover College. Tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
