Football Records Road Win against Anderson

Anderson, Ind. - Junior Chase Burton threw six touchdown passes as the Franklin College football team recorded a 55-34 victory at Anderson University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Saturday.

The Grizzlies (7-2, 6-1 HCAC) scored two touchdowns each quarter.

The visitors wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard as Burton hooked up with junior wingback Lee Wroblewski for a 55-yard touchdown pass 51 seconds in the contest. Franklin took a 14-0 lead at the 10:50 mark of the first quarter on an 18-yard pass from Burton to junior split end Deontez Alexander.

Anderson cut the deficit in half, 14-7, during a 10-play, 60-yard drive capped by a five-yard touchdown reception by Jarrett Dickey.

Senior running back Ty'Ronte Files scored on a one-yard touchdown rush in the opening minute of the second quarter. Burton found Alexander during the final minute of the first half for another scoring strike.

In the second half, Burton added a 24-yard touchdown connection to Alexander for their third touchdown hookup in the game. A 22-yard touchdown pass to junior split end Tanner Wroblewski increased Franklin's lead to 41-14 midway through the third quarter.

Burton threw his sixth touchdown pass of the game, this time to junior split end Brady Helms for a fourth-quarter score.

A nine-yard touchdown run by junior running back Jordan Brown added to the Grizzlies' fourth-quarter scoring.

Burton threw for 445 yards with six of his 33 completions going for scores. Alexander caught nine passes for a team-high 147 yards and three touchdowns. Lee Wroblewski also had nine receptions for 145 yards and a score. Sophomore wingback Brad Bonomini had nine catches for 82 yards.

Files rushed for a season-high 109 yards on 18 carries and a score.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, November 12 at 1:30 p.m. when it hosts Hanover College in the Victory Bell Classic from Faught Stadium.
