Men's Soccer Loses Hard-Fought Match at Hanover

Hanover, Ind. - Regionally ranked Hanover College scored in the 60th minute for the matches only tally to defeat the Franklin College men's soccer team 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action.

Hanover (9-2, 2-0 HCAC), ranked eighth in the Great Lakes region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, converted a header shot in the box by Dominic Isadora off a free kick from 27 yards away from goal.

Franklin (0-6-4, 0-1-1 HCAC) attempted to square the match late in the contest as a shot from freshman Conrad Bomber was saved in the 81st minute.

Junior goalkeeper Garrett Belden made 13 saves in the match.

Senior Antonio Gioe attempted three of Franklin's nine shots, while Bomber added two shots. Junior Cam Mattern, sophomore Sam Stallsmith, and freshmen Tyler Majeski and Mason May rounded out the offensive attack with one shot.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, October 8 at 3:30 p.m. when it travels to Bluffton University.
