Box Score Franklin, Ind. - Mount St. Joseph University scored in the 29th minute to record a 1-0 victory against Franklin College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women's soccer action on Saturday from Faught Stadium.
The loss ended Franklin's eight-match winning streak. MSJ moved into sole possession of first place in the conference with a 5-0 record, while Franklin falls into a three-way tie for second place at 4-1.
The Grizzlies (11-3, 4-1 HCAC) hit the crossbar on a shot from junior Jillian Lawrence early in the first half. Then, sophomore Maddie Fleet hit the post during the final 10 minutes.
Franklin held a 5-4 shot edge in the match that featured a lot of possession and back-and-forth play. Three of the four shots for the Lions were on goal.
Franklin returns to action on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. when it travels to Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
