Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's soccer team scored three second-half goals to pick up a 3-1 victory against Manchester University on Wednesday from Faught Stadium in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play.

Manchester (7-4-2, 1-3 HCAC) grabbed a lead midway through the first half on a goal from Tod Oram in the 22nd minute.

The visiting Spartans maintained the one-goal advantage until the 65th minute when junior Austin Storm scored his first goal of the season. The score came off a clearance by the Spartans on a corner kick. Freshman Tyler Majeski kept the ball in play before finding freshman Mason May in the right corner. May sent a crossing pass into the 18-yard box where Storm buried a shot into the open net.

Franklin (2-6-4, 2-1-1 HCAC) took a 2-1 lead on an own goal from a Manchester defender. A counter attack for the Grizzlies resulting in a clearance deflecting off the defender into the goal for the eventual game-winning tally.

The Grizzlies added an insurance goal in the 88th minute by sophomore Sam Stallsmith from senior Antonio Gioe.

Junior goalkeeper Garrett Belden registered three saves in the picking up the team's second straight HCAC victory. Franklin defeated Bluffton University 4-0 on October 8.

Bomber tallied four of Franklin's 11 shots in the match. Sophomore Luke Oliver added two shots for the Grizzlies.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Mount St. Joseph University from Faught Stadium.
