Louisville, Ky. - The Franklin College women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three matches with a 5-2 road victory over Spalding University on Tuesday evening.

Franklin (6-1) is ranked No. 6 in this week's Great Lakes Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Sophomore Clare Lenart (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) and freshman Maddie Fleet (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) each scored two goals and provided one assist to lead the team's offensive attack.

Lenart got the Grizzlies on the scoreboard in the seventh minute after receiving a pass from Fleet.

Spalding answered with a goal in the 13th minute to square the match.

The visitors regained the lead on a goal from Fleet in the 29th minute. Lenart provided the pass that set up Fleet's eighth goal of the season.

In the second half, Franklin scored three times in the first 17 minutes of the period to hold a 5-1 advantage. Lenart found the back of the net for the second time in the match in the 55th minute after receiving a pass from freshman Emma Myers (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central).

In the 59th minute, senior Allie Amato (Noblesville, Ind./Cathedral) scored her second goal of the season. Fleet followed with a breakaway goal in the 62nd minute to extend the margin to four goals, 5-1.

Spalding capped the scoring in the match with a tally in the 72nd minute.

Franklin attempted 18 shots, including shots on goal in the match. Fleet led the team with six shots, while sophomore Masey Bunn (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) added three shots. Lenart scored on both of her shots in the match.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) recorded her second win of the season.

Franklin returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 26, at 1 p.m. when it closes out non-conference play against Millikin University from Faught Stadium.
