Box Score Hanover, Ind. - The Franklin College women's soccer team lost a 2-0 match at top-seed Hanover College in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) tournament title match on Saturday.
The Grizzlies (16-3) now awaits an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament announced at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 9. Franklin is ranked fifth in the latest NCAA Great Lakes Region rankings.
Hanover and Franklin shared the regular-season title in 2015.
The Panthers took the lead on a goal by Anna Cornacchione in the 14th minute.
Franklin attempted to get the equalizer when a shot by freshman Maddie Fleet (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) hit the crossbar in the 53rd minute.
The visitors attempted six shots in the second half.
Hanover added an insurance goal in the 78th minute on a goal by Shelby Adams.
Franklin sophomore Clare Lenart (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) led the team's offensive attack with three shots. Fleet added two shots, while senior Allie Amato (Noblesville, Ind./Cathedral) had one shot.
