Box Score Hanover, Ind. - The Franklin College men's soccer team scored first, but Hanover College tallied the final two goals to pick up the home Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory in double overtime on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) became the program's career points record holder with a goal in the 32nd minute. He has recorded 58 points in his career.
The first-half tally came off a free kick 25 yards away from the goal.
HCAC leading Hanover forced overtime with 35 seconds left in regulation following a goal by Enrico Franchini. The Panthers scored midway through the second 10-minute overtime period for the game-winning goal.
Fundenberger led Franklin's offensive attack with three shots. Sophomore Austin Storm (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) recorded two shots in the match. Five different players added one shot for the Grizzlies.
Franklin returns to action on Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Anderson University from Faught Stadium. Live statistics of the match will be available.
