Women's Soccer Loses First HCAC Match in 2015 at Hanover

Hanover, Ind. - The Franklin College women's soccer team lost its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) loss of the 2015 season in a 3-0 match at Hanover College on Tuesday afternoon.

All three goals came in the second half after the two teams battled in an even first 45 minutes.

Franklin is tied for first place with the Panthers in the HCAC with a 5-1 league record. Overall, the Grizzlies stand 12-2 on the season.

Hanover got on the scoreboard five minutes into the second half on a goal by Daria Volker. Eight minutes later Elaine Simpson found the back of the net to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. Anna Cornacchione capped the scoring with a goal in the 85th minute.

Sophomore Clare Lenart (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) and freshman Maddie Fleet (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) each recorded two shots in the match.
