Box Score Franklin, Ind. - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shot 67.9 percent from the floor in building a 23-point halftime lead to defeat the Franklin College men's basketball team 81-60 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Wednesday from the Spurlock Center.
Franklin (3-11, 2-5 HCAC) shot 48.3 percent in the second half and had three double-figure scorers in the contest. Sophomore Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) led the effort with 17 points. Sophomore Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) scored 13 points and classmate John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) chipped in 11 points off the bench.
Rose-Hulman (9-5, 5-2 HCAC) was led by Collin Wojcik with 19 points. Corey Povaleri added 18 points.
The Fightin' Engineers used a 12-3 run over a five-minute stretch in the first half to take a 21-10 lead at the 9:31 mark. A three-point field goal by Povaleri put the visitors ahead 34-13 with 5:54 left in the first half.
Franklin was unable to mount a second-half charge. The team got as close as 18 points, 65-47, following a basket by junior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) with 8:38 remaining in the game.
