Franklin, Ind. - Trine University scored once in each half in earning a 2-0 victory over the Franklin College men's soccer team on Sunday to conclude play in the Daniel Schuetz Community Classic at Faught Stadium.

The visiting Thunder struck early on a goal from Christhian De La Paz in the 7th minute. Trine (2-1-1) scored an insurance goal in the 67th minute as Juan Monjarez found the back of the net.

Franklin (1-3) attempted a rally with 10 of its 14 shots coming in the second half. Junior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) had a match-high six shots. Senior Brandon Iaria (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) attempted three shots, while freshman Mason Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) added two shots.

The Grizzlies return to the pitch when they travel to Wabash College on Wednesday, September 10 at 5 p.m. The match marks the team's fourth contest in a seven-day span.
