Decatur, Ill. - The Franklin College men's soccer team ended its 2014 non-conference schedule with a 3-1 road loss at Millikin University on Saturday. The Big Blue scored two goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie.

Franklin (3-4-1) took a 1-0 lead on a goal from junior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) in the 20th minute.

Millikin's (4-4-1) Alan Hernandez squared the match in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal. The hosts took a 2-1 lead in the 58th minute on a goal by Kellin Daniel. Millikin's Dylan Hottsmith found the back of the net in the 80th minute to secure the victory.

Franklin's Fundenberger led the team's 13-shot attack with five shots, including four shots on goal. Junior Thaddeus Broderick (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) recorded two shots.

Junior goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) made 13 saves in the match.

Franklin is scheduled to open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play against the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, October 4 at 7 p.m. from Faught Stadium.
