Box Score Crawfordsville, Ind. - The Franklin College men's soccer team held Great Lakes Region No. 9-ranked Wabash College scoreless for 110 minutes in earning a draw on Monday afternoon from Crawfordsville, Indiana. Junior goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) made seven saves in recording his third shutout of the season.
Wabash entered the match unbeaten (5-0-1) and was playing on its home pitch.
Franklin (3-3-1) controlled most of the play early in the match, holding a 6-2 shot advantage in the first half. The Grizzlies withstood some chances during the second half as the Little Giants made an attempt to push a goal past Chapman.
In the first 10-minute overtime period, Chapman made two diving stops within a nine-second span in the 93rd minute to keep the match scoreless.
Offensively, junior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) led the team's 11-shot attack with five shots. Freshman Trevor Sarsfield (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) attempted three shots, including two shots on goal during each overtime period.
The Grizzlies extend their unbeaten streak to three consecutive matches. The team defeated the University of Concordia-Chicago 2-0 on September 14 and earned a 3-2 win over Principia College on September 19.
