Box Score Chicago, Ill. - Franklin College senior Brandon Iaria (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) and junior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) scored second-half goals in the men's soccer team's 2-0 victory on Sunday at the University of Concordia-Chicago.
The Grizzlies (2-3) got on the scoreboard early in the second half when Iaria dribbled down the left side before firing a shot inside the right post in the 53rd minute.
The visitors quickly added an insurance goal from Fundenberger five minutes later. Junior Thaddeus Broderick (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) set up both goals during the second-half spurt.
Franklin held an 11-3 shot advantage in the first half over the Cougars (2-1-1). Overall, the team recorded 16 shots and nine corner kicks in the match.
Junior goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) made two saves to record his second shutout of the season.
