Cincinnati, Ohio - Two double-doubles by its forwards led the Franklin College women's basketball team to a 68-56 win at Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday. The Grizzlies improved to 3-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play.

Senior Lindsey Dall (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) scored 15 points and had a career-high 13 rebounds. Junior Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Lauren DeSutter (Pittsboro, Ind./Tri-West) and freshman Kelsey Smith (Lexington, Ind./Scottsburg) rounded out the balanced scoring attack with 10 points each.

Saturday marked the first time two players have had a double-double since December 9, 2009 against Transylvania University.

Franklin (5-1, 3-0 HCAC) held a 53-29 rebounding margin, including 24 offensive rebounds in the victory. The visitors never trailed after the Lions scored the first two points of the game.

The Grizzlies used a 9-2 run midway through the first half to take a 17-10 after a jumper from Smith at the 7:37 mark. The Grizzlies held a double-digit lead for most of the second half after a 28-22 halftime lead.

The margin grew to 12 points, 46-34, following a three-point field goal from freshman Madi Kolthoff (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) with 11:51 left.

MSJ (2-5, 0-3 HCAC) got within seven points, 48-41, with 8:31 remaining after a layup from Tara Dennis. However, Franklin quickly increased the margin to 15 points, 62-48, following a pair of free throws from DeSutter with 4:04 left.

Dall led the second-half effort with 11 points and nine rebounds. Brewer had seven points and nine rebounds during the first half.

MSJ's Dennis scored a game-high 18 points and had nine rebounds.

Franklin returns to action on Wednesday, December 17, at 6 p.m. when it hosts nationally ranked Hope College (Mich.) from the Spurlock Center. Live statistics of the game will be available.
