Box Score Adrian, Mich. - Adrian College relied on 57 percent shooting in picking up a 98-66 home win over the Franklin College men's basketball team on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (2-2) made nine of their first 10 shots to build a quick 21-6 lead five minutes into the game. Adrian shot 76 percent to take a 63-29 halftime advantage.
The hosts were led by Rickey Jackson's 18 points. Five players scored in double figures in the contest.
Franklin sophomore guard Brandon Scruggs (Royal Center, Ind./Pioneer) scored a career-high 13 points. He made all four of his shot attempts, including three three-point field goals.
Sophomore guard Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) scored 12 points. Freshman forward Jim Mace (Brazil, Ind./Northview) had nine points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) scored six points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Franklin returns to action on Wednesday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Hanover College in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener. The game will also be Bankers Rivalry Night from the Spurlock Center.
