Men's Basketball Loses at Nationally Ranked Centre

Danville, Ky. - Sophomore guard Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) scored a career-high 18 points for the Franklin College men's basketball team, but No. 25-ranked Centre College picked up a 74-60 victory over the Grizzlies on Saturday.

The game ended a season-opening stretch in which Franklin played teams ranked or receiving votes in the D3hoops.com preseason poll.

Mann made six field goals and was 6-of-7 on free throw attempts to account for his 18 points.

Sophomore forward John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) also was in double figures with a career-high 11 points.

Centre (3-0) shot 57 percent in the first half to take a 42-28 halftime lead. The hosts finished the game by shooting 54 percent. Blake Scinta scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Colonels.
