Women's Soccer Sets School Record with 10th Season Victory

Anderson, Ind. - The Franklin College women's soccer team established a new school record with its 10th victory of the season in a 1-0 road triumph over Anderson University in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match on Saturday.

The Grizzlies remain in first place in the league with a 6-0-1 conference record, and are unbeaten over the last 11 matches. The team has won at least nine matches in three of the past four seasons.

Junior Amy Jordan (Greenwood, Ind./Irvington Prep Academy) scored her third goal of the season off a pass from senior Kayla Dragstrem (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) in the 41st minute of the match.

Franklin held a slight 9-8 shot advantage for the match, and had seven shots on goal. The team also attempted four corner kicks and kept the Ravens from having a corner kick.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) made five saves in recording her fourth shutout of the season.

Sophomore Alyssa Lund (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) and Jordan each led Franklin with two shots.
