Box Score Bluffton, Ohio - Junior Thaddeus Broderick (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) scored the matches' lone goal with six minutes remaining to lift the Franklin College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Bluffton University on Saturday.
The Grizzlies improved to 6-5-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action. The team stands in second place in the league standings after winning both of its road HCAC matches.
Broderick scored his first goal of the season when he bent a shot from 25 yards out for the game-winning goal.
Junior goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) made five saves in recording his six shutout of the season.
Franklin recorded 12 of its 18 shots during the second half. Senior Brandon Iaria (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) led the attack with four shots. Junior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) attempted three shots, while freshman Austin Storm (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) had two shots.
