Box Score Richmond, Ind. - The Franklin College men's soccer team lost its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener 2-0 at Earlham College on Saturday afternoon at Matlack Field. The Quakers scored both goals in the second half.
Earlham (5-6, 1-0 HCAC) broke a scoreless match on a goal by Felicien Muyumba in the 73rd minute. Ameer Yusuf added an insurance goal in the final minute of the match.
Franklin (2-5-2, 0-1 HCAC) had six of its 12 shots on goal. Sophomore Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) led the team with five shots. Freshman Antonio Gioe (Martinsville, Ind./Mooresville) attempted three shots in the defeat.
Senior goalkeeper Lucas Hill (Culver, Ind./Plymouth) recorded five saves for the Grizzlies.
