Men's Soccer Loses Match at Rose-Hulman

Terre Haute, Ind. - Three first-half goals led Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to a 3-0 victory over Franklin College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.

The hosts Fightin' Engineers (8-4-3, 5-0-1 HCAC) got on the board in the 10th minute on a goal from Brad Rostron. Drew Belk added the final two goals midway through the first half. The victory moved Rose-Hulman into first place in the HCAC.

Franklin sophomore Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) led the team with five shots. Freshman Antonio Gioe (Martinsville, Ind./Mooresville) recorded two shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) made four saves and did not allow a goal after entering the match in the second half. Chapman also successfully stopped a penalty kick.

Franklin now stands 4-8-2 on the season and 2-4 in league play. The Grizzlies return home on Saturday, October 26 at 3:30 p.m. against Bluffton University at Faught Stadium. Live statistics of the match will be available here.
