Defiance, Ohio - Franklin College senior William Hilgendorf (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) scored his fourth goal of the season in a 3-1 road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) loss to Defiance College on Saturday.

Hilgendorf received a pass from senior Chad Parrett (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis)  10 minutes into the second half to trim the deficit to 2-1.

Defiance (8-7, 3-2 HCAC) got first half goals from Ian Fasnacht two minutes into the contest and Kevin Arriola scored in the 10th minute.

Franklin (4-7-2, 2-3 HCAC) outshot the Yellow Jackets 9-7 in the second half, but Defiance's Victor Trifiro scored an insurance goal with just over two minutes remaining in the match.

Franklin sophomore Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) had a game-high 12 shots, including five on goal. The Grizzlies held a 17-11 edge in shots for the match.

Franklin returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
