Vanis joins the Franklin volleyball coaching staff with a strong background in collegiate athletics, leadership and academics. A four-year starter at Ball State, Vanis competed at the highest level of NCAA Division I volleyball and was an NCAA Final Four participant, a MIVA Conference Champion, and a two-time Academic All-MIVA honoree. He brings a competitive mindset, strong work ethic and a passion for developing athletes both on and off the court.
During his offseason, Vanis coached at Muncie Burris Laboratory School in Muncie, Indiana, leading the team to a sectional championship. He has also provided private volleyball lessons at T3 Performance in Cleveland, Ohio, working with athletes to develop their skills and elevate their game.
Outside of volleyball, Vanis works for the City of Franklin Department of Public Works. In his free time, he is actively investing in multi-family real estate and flipping properties through hands-on remodeling, with the goal of building a future in real estate.
You will frequently find him at Lowe’s, usually buying something he “definitely needs” for the next project.
