Lucas Densford is entering his second season as an assistant on the Franklin men's and women's tennis coaching staff following the completion of an accomplished collegiate career with the Grizzlies in 2025.
A three-year member of the men's tennis program, Densford was a mainstay in the Grizzlies' lineup, starting every dual match of his collegiate career. He provided consistency, leadership and stability throughout his time in the program, competing in both singles and doubles while helping anchor the doubles lineup across multiple seasons. His steady presence and work ethic contributed to the continued growth and success of the program. During his senior campaign, Densford tied for the team lead in doubles wins while competing alongside five different partners, showcasing his adaptability, consistency and leadership within the lineup.
Off the court, Densford was recognized as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and earned HCAC All-Academic honors. Densford graduated summa cum laude from Franklin College in 2025 — one year early — with a degree in accounting, reflecting his dedication to balancing athletic competition with academic achievement.
Now on the sidelines, Densford brings a unique perspective to the Franklin coaching staff after spending three years developing within the program as a student-athlete. In his first season as an assistant coach, the Franklin women's tennis team recorded its highest win total since the 2018-19 season, showing Densford's immediate impact and continued growth within the program. His firsthand experience combined with his passion for player development and team culture allow him to mentor student-athletes both on and off the court, and he is dedicated to helping the Grizzlies continue to compete for conference championships.
