Justin Johnson joined the Franklin College coaching staff in August 2024, coming on as an assistant coach for both the track and field and cross country programs.

Justin attended Hanover College from 2018-2022 earning his degree in Elementary Education, he also competed for the Panthers track and field team. He earned seven All-HCAC honors competing in the 400 hurdles and pole vault, and garnered an All-Great Lakes Region distinction in the decathlon in 2022. He also secured a spot on multiple event top-10 lists. Johnson earned most valuable sprinter and athlete on the 2022 track and field team.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Coach Johnson has gained valuable experience in sports administration through his internship with the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). In this role, he helped with organizing hotel accommodations for teams, officials, and staff; assisting with production of championship manuals; soliciting food sponsors for select championships; assisting with GLVC social media initiatives; assisting with coordinating the Conference awards program; helping update the league record books; assisting with GLVC Sports Network productions; and various other duties
as assigned by the staff.
Prior to the GLVC, Johnson earned his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Valparaiso University where he would run one season as a multis event athlete from 2022-2023.
He currently resides in Greenfield, Indiana.
