JT Volz '99

As the first head coach for Franklin Collage bass fishing, JT Volz brings a wealth of experience to the program.  He has served as the head coach of the bass fishing team at Indiana Creek High School since 2020 which has included 4 straight Indiana High School BASS Team State Championship titles.  Other accolades include, but are not limited to:
  • 2024 Indiana BASS Team State Champions
  • 2024 BASS National Qualifiers and 4th Place Overall Finish
  • 2024 1st Place finish at Indiana BASS Nation at Brookville Lake (IN)
  • 2023 Angler of the Year BASS Nation

  • 2023 Indiana BASS Team State Champions
  • 2023 Qualifier for SAF Worlds at Lacrosse, WI
  • 2022 Indiana BASS Team State Champions
  • 2022 2nd Place Indiana BASS Nation at Lake Wawasee (IN)
  • 2022 Qualifier at BASS Nation Nationals at Lake Hartwell (SC)
  • 2022 2nd Place in SAF at Patoka Lake (IN)

  • 2021 Indiana BASS Team State Champions

  • 2020 2nd Place in Jr. Indiana BASS Nation State tournament at Lake Monroe (IN)
  • 2020 11th Place in Jr. Nationals at Carrol County
In addition to his coaching prowess, Coach Volz has served as a firefighter, engineer, paramedic, and fire investigator for the Washington Township Fire Department since 2006.  Prior to that, he served as the Director of Athletics for the City of Franklin Parks & Recreation.  JT and his wife Staci are both alumni of Franklin College.  They reside locally and have two sons.
