Franklin College

2022 Hall of Fame Class

Dan Fell

Fell, Class of 1973, is being inducted as an athlete. A four-year starter for the Franklin men's basketball team under head coach Ed. Thompson, Fell played in 92 games for the Grizzlies during his time with the blue and gold. Fell averaged 14.9 points per game and shot 42.4% from the field while helping Franklin to the NAIA District Tournament in both 1971 and in 1973.

His senior year saw him lead Franklin with 21 points per game on 48.6% shooting from the floor and 87.0% from the free throw line. That earned him the Franklin Team MVP award, a spot on the Indiana Senior Collegiate All-Star Team and a tryout from the ABA's Denver Nuggets following his graduation.

Dawn (Privette) McNew

McNew, Class of 1987, is being inducted as an athlete. McNew was three-sport star for the Grizzlies, playing vital roles as a member of the women's basketball, softball and field hockey teams at Franklin. On the field hockey pitch, she closed her career with a 12-goal senior season and a selection as an NAIA All-District Honorable Mention selection.

On the hardwood, she was a member of 55 wins for the program during her four years, helping Franklin qualify for the NAIA District Tournament as both a junior and a senior. She would join some elite company as a senior, becoming the second player in program history to hand out at least 100 assists in a season and still ranks second for a single season with 103 helpers.

She was also a four-year starter for the softball team, playing centerfield and leading off for the Grizzlies in all four years. She helped Franklin qualify for the NAIA District Playoffs in all four years, culminating with a runner-up finish her senior year.

Mike Hall

Hall, Class of 1969, is being inducted as a friend. A native of nearby Columbus, Ind., Hall joined the Franklin men's basketball team in 1965 and was a four-year starter at the forward position. In his career, he averaged 14 points per game and finished with 967 for his career. Hall also grabbed 557 rebounds during his tenure, which ranks in the top-20 in program history to this day.

Since graduation, he has been a fixture in central Indiana athletics, coaching five different sports over 52 years at three different schools. That included 40 years as a track coach and 32 years coaching basketball. Hall has remained a fixture at Franklin home contests, serving as official scorer at Griz men's basketball games and working the game clock at football games since 2005. He is a two-term FC Alumni Council member and has been an adjunct professor on campus on four occasions.
