Franklin women's lacrosse has had itself quite a week.
The Grizzlies won for the second time in six days on Saturday, riding six goals and three assists from
Addie Whitman to a 14-10 victory at Lawrence.
"The girls played absolutely phenomenal," Griz coach Morgan Krause said. "We're headed in the right direction."
Down 4-3 after the opening quarter, Franklin (2-3) pulled in front to stay with three goals in the second.
Claire Ecenbarger tied it up with 10:42 in the half, and that deadlock held for almost six minutes before Whitman scored the go-ahead goal and assisted on
Abby Moore's tally that made it 6-4 going into the break.
Whitman scored three more times in the third quarter, including back-to-back goals with the Grizzlies a player up, and fourth-period goals by
Aubrey Small and
Avery Tomlinson kept Lawrence at arm's length down the stretch.
Ecenbarger had three goals and an assist for Franklin, while Tomlinson had two goals and assisted on another.
Kiera McCord also found the back of the net for the Grizzlies, while goalkeeper
Kelsey Moran made five saves.
Franklin is off until March 24, when it hosts St. Mary's at Faught Stadium.
"We had so many games this week and now this next week we're just going to go back to the drawing board," Krause said. "Really hone in on things we've got to work on in practice, and get ready for the next one."
