After falling in its first match of the spring season, Franklin women's tennis bounced back with a big win.
The Grizzlies pulled out victories in the last three singles positions, rallying for a 4-3 triumph at Principia on Saturday.
Wins from
Ailyn Hendricks and
Eleanor Stillabower at first doubles and from
Reagan Cox and
Brenna Atchison at No. 3 helped Franklin (6-6) secure the first point of the match, but Principia was the victor in each of the first three singles spots.
Emma Sappenfield gave the Griz a 6-2, 6-2 win at fourth singles and Atchison was a 6-1, 6-1 winner in the fifth spot, evening the match.
Mattie Foster sealed the Franklin win by coming back from a set down for a 6-7, 6-1, 10-1 win at No. 6 singles.
Franklin opens HCAC play this Saturday morning (March 7, 11 a.m.) at Berea.
