The road hadn't been particularly kind to Franklin men's tennis at the start of the spring season, but the Grizzlies flipped the script on Saturday, rolling to a 5-2 win at Principia.
Franklin (5-6) lost the doubles point despite a 6-3 win from
Luke Morris and
Avram Rund at the No. 3 spot. Singles, though, belonged to the Griz.
Marcus Cox pulled out a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 thriller in the second position, and the Grizzlies were straight-set winners in the third through sixth spots.
Jaden Wells won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3,
Brian Vennemann was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 4,
Brendan Hanner took a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 5 and Rund claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Next up for the Grizzlies is a trip to Berea on Saturday morning (March 7, 11 a.m.) for the first HCAC match of the spring.
