RECAP | Frye Nets Seven, Schlieper Sets Career High In Saves for Griz on Saturday

FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's lacrosse team wrapped up a three-game homestand on Saturday (Mar. 16) afternoon, hosting the Falcons of Concordia University Wisconsin.
 
Senior Bella Frye potted seven goals for the Grizzlies (1-3), but the hosts spent most of the afternoon playing catch-up as the Falcons (2-3) went on to win, 16-8.
 
How it Happened
The Grizzlies opened the scoring 2:37 into the game with Frye slotting home an unassisted effort. But the rest of the opening quarter belonged to the Flacons, as they netted the next five goals before Frye's second of the day stopped the run early in the second quarter. Franklin headed into the break trailing 11-7, but the offense would generate just one goal over the final half of play.
 
Inside the Box Score
-In addition to her team-leading goal total, Frye also led the Grizzlies with eight shot attempts, all of which were on target. Frye also went 3-for-4 from the free position and added four draw controls.
-Jillian Schlieper potted a goal and ed the Grizzlies with eight draw controls.
-Kara Woodard paced the defense with five ground ball and five caused turnovers, both team highs.
-Jamie Schlieper set a career high with 16 saves in the Franklin goal.
