LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Franklin women's tennis team took the court for their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match of the year on Saturday (Oct. 5) afternoon, taking on the Transylvania Pioneers.
 
The Grizzlies (1-6, 0-1 HCAC) would fall to the defending league champions, with the Pioneers (1-0, 1-0 HCAC) taking a 7-0 decision. All six singles matches were played in straight sets, with the Pioneers taking all but two points in doubles play.
 
Franklin closes out their fall schedule on Thursday (Oct. 10), hosting Indiana-East at Grizzly Park. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
