RECAP | Swimming and Diving Teams Host Senior Night on Friday Night

FRANKLIN – The Franklin swimming and diving teams hosted the Rose-Hulman Engineers on Friday (Jan. 19) night, wrapping up their home schedule and honoring the program's seniors on Senior Night.
 
The Grizzlies women claimed a 231-56 win over the Engineers with the men dropping a battle to their league rival 164-134.
 
Before the event started, the Franklin program said thank you the Carley Bond, Samantha Phillips, Caileigh McCafferty, Regan Hendricks, Grace Williams, Ashley Summers, Kennedy Minter. Jack Burke, Kosmo Wojack, Cameron Baker and Luke Becker for their four years of hard work and dedication to the program.
 
The list of winners for the Grizzly women included:
-Phillips in the 1000 free (10:55.86), 50 free (26.16) and 500 free (5:16.08)
-McCafferty in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.72), 200 backstroke (2:15.58) and 100 butterfly (1:01.46)
-Erin Perkins in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.16)
-Celeste Hollis in the 200 free (1:58.82) and 200 butterfly (2:15.00)
-Petal Sloan in the 100 backstroke (1:04.34)
-Kat Lundy in the 200 IM (2:19.15)
-Bond on the 1-meter board with 193.36 points over five dives
-Kaleigh Schuler on the 1-meter board with 263.84 points over six dives
-The 200 medley relay of Minter, Hollis, Mia Saunders and Avery Tomlinson, 1:58.11
-The 400 free relay of McCafferty, Williams, Tomlinson and Perkins, 3:53.50
 
Winners and notable finishes for the Franklin men included:
-Zachary Jackson-Blaine taking first in the 50 free (21.56) and 100 free (49.29)
-Burke in taking first in the 100 backstroke (55.42) and second in both the 200 backstroke (1:57.97) and 100 butterfly (54.27)
-Wojack placed first in the 200 butterfly (1:57.13) and took second in both the 200 breaststroke (2:15.59) and 200 IM (2:00.96)
-JC Chappell finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.85)
-Kaden Cummins placed second in the 500 free (5:14.12) and third in the 200 free (1:52.34)
-Baker taking first in the 1-meter five-dive session (183.98) and second in the 1-meter six-dive session (260.46).
-The 200 medley relay of Chappell, Wojack, Blaine and Will Johnson finishing first in 1:39.14
-The 400 free relay of Burke, Cummins, Blaine and Stone Conaway placing second in 3:17.91

Franklin wraps up the regular season next Saturday (Jan. 27) with a road dual meet against Illinois Wesleyan. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
