FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 for the first time in program history with a 17-7 win over Concordia Chicago on Wednesday (Mar. 8) night.
Five different Grizzlies recorded multiple goals in the game, led by a seven-goal output from junior Baliegh Riddle. Senior
Anya Glodowski continued her early season tear by setting the single-game program record for assists with eight and tying for the most points in a game by any player with 10.
How it Happened
The Grizzlies were held off the board for the first six minutes of play before Glodowski broke through with nine minutes left in the first quarter. Riddle and
Mia Turnbaugh hit the twine shortly after, spotting Franklin a 3-1 lead after one quarter. The Grizzly offense blew up in the second period, scoring six times in total with four different players converting. The Grizzly defense was stingy at the other end, limiting scoring chances as Franklin took a 9-3 lead at the break.
Franklin out-scored the Cougars 4-1 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach and added four more goals in the final period.
