ANDERSON, Ind. – The Franklin women's swimming and diving team hit the road for their final dual meet of the calendar year on Saturday (Dec. 10) afternoon, taking on the Anderson Ravens in a head-to-head conference matchup.
The Grizzlies moved to 5-1 in dual matchups this year, winning 10 of the 12 events to take a 153-53 decision over the Ravens and head into the new year on a high.
Both relays started and closed the day with wins.
Jyllian Antle, Becky Pfeifer,
Caileigh McCafferty and
Grace Williams won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.03 to start the day and the 200 free relay of
Regan Hendricks,
Erin Perkins,
Samantha Phillips and
Kennedy Minter wrapped up the day with a winning time of 1:47.88.
Individually, Phillips won both the 200 free (2:07.05) and 200 butterfly (2:19.19) and was joined as a multi-event winner by McCafferty after she took the 200 IM (2:18.50) and 200 backstroke (2:18.58). Also picking up wins in the pool were Perkins in the 1650 free (19:48.14), Minter in the 50 free (26.60), Hendricks in the 500 free (5:15.24) and Pfeifer in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.77).
On the one-meter board, senior
Faith Jackson claimed a runner-up finish with a score of 374.70 points.
Franklin is out of competition until the new year, when they get back in the pool for the Centre Colonel Classic on Jan. 6-7 in Danville, Ky.
