FRANKLIN, Ind. - Just a few short weeks after their most successful event of the fall, the Franklin cross country teams are set to take on the rest of the conference field at the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships at the Laverne Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday (Nov. 3) afternoon.
In their most recent tune-up for the conference championships, both the men's and women's teams saw several personal records fall at the Oberlin Inter-Region Rumble. The biggest number to fall from that weekend came from senior Clayton Brumfield, who broke the school's previous 8K record with a time of 25:25.9. The Greenfield, Ind.-native is in search of his fourth straight all-conference finish and is one of the front-runners in the men's race.
Ahead of this weekend's event, we sat down with head cross country coach Brandon Dworak to discuss the team's outlook and expectations for the championships. Click on the video below to hear the interview.
