RECAP | Combs, Blackburn Compete at NCAA Diving Regional

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Franklin College divers Lexi Blackburn and Will Combs made the short trip west to the campus of Wabash College for the NCAA Division III Region One Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 1-2).

In his second career appearance at the diving regional, senior Combs stepped onto the three-meter board on Friday night, finishing 17th among the region's best divers after accumulating 341.25 points. On Saturday, he took to the one-meter board and earned an 18th-place finish, finishing with 354.10 points over 11 dives.

Also in her second straight trip to the diving regional, Blackburn hit the one-meter board against a deep and talented field of divers on Friday night. The Clayton, Ind.-native would place 14th in the 11-dive competition, finishing with a score of 387.60 points. The following day, Blackburn took to the three-meter board where she earned an identical 14th-place finish after picking up 384.40 points.

The entire list of qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will be announce on Monday (Mar. 4). Day one of the national championships is set for Wednesday, Mar. 20 in Greensboro, N.C.
