KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Franklin College senior goalkeeper Lexi Short was named Third Team All-Great Lakes Region by the United Soccer Coaches on Monday (Dec. 2) afternoon.

The Avon, Ind-native earned her first career all-region selection from the national coaches association, capping a brilliant playing career with a strong senior season. She becomes the third player in program history to be named an all-region selection by the United Soccer Coaches, joining former teammates Maddie Fleet and Clare Lenart.

Short was the backbone of Franklin's defense in 2019, recording an .807 save percentage and a 1.51 goals against average with seven shutouts as Franklin returned to the HCAC tournament following a one-year hiatus. That stat line was enough to earn her First Team All-HCAC honors for the third time in her career and secured a spot on one of the all-conference teams for the fourth year in a row.

For her career, Short recorded a 41-28-2 record with a 1.35 goals against and .802 save percentage with 26 shutouts, ending her career as the program's all-time leader in both wins and clean sheets.
