INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following another high-scoring week on the pitch, Franklin College senior forward Maddie Fleet was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 23) afternoon.
The Indianapolis, Ind.-native netted her third hat trick of the year on Saturday afternoon in a 4-1 win over Earlham, scoring once in the first half and twice late in the game to put the Grizzlies win on ice. I t marked the third time this year the Grizzlies' top attacker has recorded at least three goals in a match.
For the year, Fleet has found the back of the net 21 times and added four assists for 46 points, leading the league in scoring and goals. Entering the final week of the regular season, Fleet has 95 goals and 34 assists for 224 career points.
Fleet and the Franklin women's soccer team is on the road on Wednesday (Oct. 24) night, heading to Lexington, Ky. to take on the Transylvania Pioneers. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
