FRANKLIN, Ind. – The 2018 schedule for the Franklin College women's soccer team has been unveiled, and features eight matches to be played on the turf at Faught Stadium this fall.
Head coach Cristin Allen and the defending Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) champions will begin the year with five straight matches on the road before kicking off their home schedule against Kenyon College on Sept. 16. The Grizzlies will close out the month of September with home contests against Illinois Wesleyan (Sept. 19), Centre (Sept. 26) and their conference opener against Defiance (Sept. 29) on homecoming weekend.
October begins with a showdown under the light at Faught Stadium with rival Hanover on Oct. 3 as Franklin wraps up a three-game homestand. The Grizzlies will close out the home schedule with back-to-back home games against Anderson (Oct. 13) and Rose-Hulman (Oct. 17) before closing out the regular season on their home field against Mount St. Joseph (Oct. 27).
Franklin will play six non-conference matches on the road, all in the month of September. The Grizzlies will travel to Concordia (Wis.) to open the year on Sept. 1, followed by contests at Fontbonne (Sept. 7), WashU (Sept. 8), DePauw (Sept. 11), Thomas More (Sept. 13) and Alma (Sept. 22).
The Grizzlies will hit the road for four HCAC contests in the month of October, traveling to Bluffton (Oct. 6), Manchester (Oct. 10), Earlham (Oct. 20) and Transylvania (Oct. 24). It all leads up to the 2018 HCAC Tournament, with dates for the semifinals and finals to be announced at a later date.
