Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Women’s Soccer at Berea

Berea, Ky. - The Franklin College women's soccer team relied on a balanced scoring attack during an 8-0 road victory against Berea College on Saturday in the non-conference finale. Seven different players found the back of the net.

Franklin (7-2) has won four consecutive matches and opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 1 when it hosts Defiance College.

Sophomore Maddie Fleet scored two goals and provided two assists to lead the offensive attack. The visitors led 3-0 at halftime behind goals from junior Clare Lenart, freshman Taylor McDaniel, and Fleet.

In the second half, sophomore Olivia Fisher and junior Haley Lowe scored a goal. Sophomore Rachel Hawkins and freshman Jalynn Gorman found the back of the net in the second 45-minute period. Fleet also scored during the second half.

Franklin held a 20-5 shot advantage in the match, including 13 shots on goal. Fleet and Lenart each led the Grizzlies with four shots. Fisher registered three shots in the victory.
